    Chief Engineer Job Responsibilities:

    * Directs all Design Engineering Department activities and coordinates various engineering support functions.

    * Implements department and personnel goals to support company and upper management long-term direction.

    * Reviews, provides feedback, and approves all new designs down to the piece part level.

    * Establishes and implements systems and procedures to accomplish Design Engineering Department functions.

    * Provides signature authority for all formally released items such as drawings, documents, test procedures etc.

    * Allocates engineering design manpower.

    * Responsible for training and skill development of Design Engineering personnel.

    * Responsible for configuration management as it relates to Design Engineering.

    * Prepares performance reviews and yearly goals for engineering personnel.

    * Reviews need for capital expenditures in Design Engineering and makes recommendations.

    * Develops non-recurring engineering estimates (NRE) for new business activities as assigned.

    * Develops conceptual designs for proposals and directs technical proposal development.

    * Implements concurrent engineering objectives for new product development.

    * Participates in bid/no-bid and cost estimating efforts.

    * Provides technical support and direction for qualification test efforts.

    * Provides technical support and direction for fielded product related issues.

    * Provides technical support and direction for nonconforming material review.

    Chief Engineer Job Qualifications:

    * Mechanical Engineering degree required, graduate degree preferred.

    * Minimum ten years" experience as hydraulic design engineer and background in conceptual design and development

    * Applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government

    * Must be a U.S. Citizen
