The Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center in Waukesha is looking for a Facilities Manager!
WVRC, Waukesha is recognized as a certified Level 1 Emergency and Critical Care Facility by the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society (VECCS). We have three hospital locations: Waukesha, Racine and Grafton all dedicated to providing patients, clients, and referring veterinarians the highest quality emergency and specialty veterinary medical care. WVRC offers a warm, friendly atmosphere where our main goal is to provide compassionate care to our patients and clients as well as offering outstanding customer service.
The Facilities Manager plays a critical role in maintaining and overseeing all operations and inventory of the hospital’s physical environment. This position ensures the hospital is clean, well maintained, and compliant with regulatory standards.
Primary Job Functions:
+ Promote the core values of WVRC
+ Oversee daily upkeep of the hospital facility, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, medical equipment, and general building maintenance.
+ Schedule and supervise preventive maintenance for all facility systems and equipment.
+ Source, implement and maintain vendor relationships, services, programs and contracts.
+ Oversee and maintain all necessary hospital inspections, permits, equipment certification, and safety training.
+ Coordinates safety, security, and emergency response plans.
+ Maintain and enforce all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
+ Serves as Safety Coordinator for the hospital and ensures that the hospital abides by OSHA standards. (including emergency preparedness, response efforts including fire drills and disaster planning).
+ Maintain and enforce all State (Wisconsin) Department of Health.
+ Maintain and enforce all State (Wisconsin) Labor Licensing and Regulation guidelines (Department of Workforce Development (DWD) and the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS), and other applicable regulations).
+ Maintain hospital standards as set forth by the local Fire Chief, including a certificate of occupancy.
+ Oversee proper sanitation protocols to limit contamination and the spread of contagious diseases within the hospital.
+ Direct and inspect projects, including site repairs, construction projects, and preventive maintenance, ensuring completion within established time frames, project design, and budget.
+ Participates in creating the annual Facilities department budget and monitors monthly spending.
+ Work with the Hospital Director to review and update the service contract prices as needed.
+ Organize and maintain a list of contractors, service providers, and essential facility information, including records of building and medical equipment maintenance and inspections.
+ Scheduling and coordinating with contractors and staff for maintenance, inspections, and repairs on buildings and larger medical equipment, and ensuring work is completed in a satisfactory and timely manner
+ Oversee facility maintenance including:
+ Fire alarm testing
+ Backflow / Sprinkler testing
+ Chemotherapy hood inspection
+ Dryer vent inspection
+ Generator preventative maintenance
+ HVAC preventative maintenance
+ Autoclave preventative maintenance
+ Ethylene oxide sterilizer preventative maintenance
+ Physics testing for C-Arm, Radiology, Dentistry, CT
+ Radiology preventative maintenance
+ Fluoroscopy
+ Janitorial services
+ Landscaping
+ Parking lot maintenance
+ Security
+ Assist with medical equipment repair/replacement, including vendor set up/receipt, approval process/and submitting invoices and costs for payment.
+ Oversee the Service Channel program, including:
+ Monitor and create work orders to ensure all repairs and maintenance are entered into the Service Channel and completed promptly.
+ Working with the Hospital Director for approval of small works/capital requests.
+ Ensuring all equipment is appropriately labeled and inventoried as required.
+ Ensuring appropriate receipts/invoices are entered into Service Channel.
+ Work closely with hospital leadership, medical teams, and client services to ensure facilities support the clinical mission.
+ Provide facilities-related support during off-hours as needed.
+ Other duties as assigned
Schedule and Compensation:
+ Monday through Friday.
+ First shift - shift start time may be flexible depending on hospital needs.
+ The salary range for this position is $70-75K/annually.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:
+ Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
+ 3-5 years of prior maintenance work experience.
+ Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with doctors, coworkers, and clients.
+ Strong organizational, planning, prioritizing, and troubleshooting skills.
+ Must possess a keen attention to detail and an ability to spot threats to the safety of clients and employees.
+ Detail-oriented and organized.
+ Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
+ Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Physical Demands:
Must have the ability to respond quickly in urgent situations using all senses. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, see, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, as well as push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
