Job Description
- Analyze current manufacturing processes, especially within injection molding, to identify areas for improvement in cycle time, quality, and cost
- Lead and implement Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives to drive continuous improvement across the plant
- Apply Black Belt-level Six Sigma methodologies to complex problems and mentor others in structured problem-solving
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues related to molding machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to develop preventive maintenance strategies and equipment upgrades
- Manage improvement projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring production issues
- Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and training materials
- Support new product launches and equipment installations, ensuring smooth integration into existing operations
- Provide technical support during validations, process qualifications, and equipment commissioning
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; Electrical or Industrial Engineering also considered
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic injection molding
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required
- 5S experience
- Strong hands-on experience with troubleshooting electrical systems (PLCs, HMIs, sensors) and mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, tooling)
- Proven track record of managing engineering or process improvement projects
- Familiarity with injection molding machines
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $58.00/hr.
