    Job Title: Survey CAD Technician Job Description

     

    As a Survey CAD Technician, you will be responsible for preparing Boundary, Topographic, and ALTA Surveys and Plats of Subdivision. You will utilize MicroStation to draft survey data from the field, providing complex CAD support for the Surveying team. This role involves creating engineering/survey plan sets and generating reports.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare and draft Boundary, Topographic, and ALTA Surveys using MicroStation and AutoCAD.

    + Provide technical support to the Surveying team in creating engineering/survey plan sets.

    + Draft survey data from field notes using MicroStation.

    + Collaborate closely with Survey Department team members on multiple projects simultaneously.

    + Create accurate reports based on survey data.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD.

    + Experience with topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and boundary survey software.

    + Strong understanding of surveying concepts such as survey data, topography, plat subdivision, and easements.

    + 3-5 years of experience as a civil CAD drafter, preferably in land development or transportation.

    + Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate's Degree in CAD is preferred.

    + Civil 3D experience is acceptable if MicroStation experience is not available.

    + Interest in expanding surveying skills or experience in other divisions is encouraged.

    Work Environment

    This is a fast-paced work environment, where you will handle 2-5 projects concurrently. You will be working 100% behind a computer, performing Survey CAD drafts from your own desk/cubicle. Initially, you will be provided a company desktop and later a laptop. The company offers flexible work arrangements, allowing one day of remote work (Monday or Friday) once earned. The survey team consists of approximately 20 members, including 4 PLS individuals. Opportunities for training and development in surveying work or other divisions are available. Dress code is business casual.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ROSEMONT, Illinois.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr.
