Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction
Employment Type: Full-Time
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer with a strong experience in heavy civil construction. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in field operations and a passion for infrastructure development. The ideal candidate will come from a General Contractor (GC) have direct experience managing self-performed work.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee day-to-day field operations and coordinate with subcontractors and client representatives.
+ Prepare and submit daily field reports.
+ Track quantities and labor hours for all field activities.
+ Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
+ Assist in developing and submitting look-ahead schedules.
+ Manage RFIs: preparation, submission, and tracking.
+ Order daily construction supplies and maintain a field purchase log.
+ Process change orders and maintain accurate documentation.
+ Obtain and manage road closure permits; maintain permit logs.
+ Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox talks, and safety trainings.
+ Track equipment and material usage.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer in heavy civil construction.
+ Proven experience in bridges, highways, utility relocation, excavation, foundation work, and piping systems.
+ OSHA 30 Certification required.
+ Must have experience working for a General Contractor (not engineering-only firms).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
