Job Title: PSNS-1st Class Aluminum Welder

Pay: $30-32/hr + $178 per diem

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PSNS-1st Class Aluminum Welder with over five years of experience in welding, fitting, and brazing, specifically within a Naval shipyard environment. The role requires proficiency in NAVSEA standards and a deep understanding of shipboard spaces and welding symbols.

Responsibilities

+ Perform welding as per NAVSEA and Navy standards.

+ Weld assembly plating and fabricated components according to specifications.

+ Utilize carbon electrodes to cut, shape, and groove metal.

+ Conduct tack welding using SMAW techniques.

+ Safely operate a torch and handle up to 50 lbs.

+ Pass various weld tests, including the HY-80 Pipe Test 6G (SMAW), Flux-core HY 80 test, and Aluminum Plate test.

+ Demonstrate knowledge of WAFs and follow instructions effectively.

+ Collaborate well with team members.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with aluminum welding and shipyard operations.

+ Proficiency in using standard welding tools and knowledge of weld symbols.

+ Ability to work different shifts as required.

Work Environment

This position is based in a shipyard environment, where weld tests are conducted at the NASSCO facility. You will be required to be present for a two-day test starting at 6 am each day. The role involves physical tasks, including lifting and working in various positions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bremerton, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
