Clinical Lab Scientist:
The position is located within the Blood Bank at a Level One Trauma Hospital. The laboratory processes over 4,000 samples daily, requiring expertise and experience in the Blood Bank.
This role is responsible for performing wet lab testing duties within the Blood Bank. The role involves following written procedures for sample handling and processing, executing low, moderate, and high complexity testing of donor samples, and reviewing test results and records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with procedural requirements.
Responsibilities
+ Follow written procedures for sample handling and processing.
+ Perform low, moderate, and high complexity testing of donor samples, as authorized.
+ Review and evaluate test results and records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with all applicable procedural requirements.
+ Notify supervision of any problems identified that may adversely affect the performance of testing and/or the reporting of test results.
+ Perform quality control, calibration, and instrument maintenance activities as specified in procedures.
+ Assist Management with the completion of Error and Accident Reports.
+ Perform other duties as may be required or assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in medical laboratory procedures.
+ Experience with PCR DNA testing.
+ Competency in urinalysis and molecular testing.
+ Active ASCP or AMT Certification.
+ Tennessee licensure as a Medical Technologist.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
