    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team and embark on a journey to learn all aspects of the pipe fabrication business. As an entry-level fabricator, you will work primarily with ductile iron pipes used in water treatment plants and related projects. This role involves operating a large lathe machine, focusing on cutting, threading, and flanging pipes. We seek a motivated individual with a mechanical aptitude who can be easily trained on specific machines.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate a large lathe machine to process large pipes for water projects.

    + Learn and execute cutting, threading, and flanging of ductile iron pipes.

    + Handle various types of pipes, including PVC, polyethylene, and ductile iron.

    + Assist in the fabrication of pipe fittings and provide field services.

    + Work collaboratively within a small team environment.

    Essential Skills

    + Mechanical aptitude with an interest in machine operation.

    + Experience or willingness to learn operating a manual lathe.

    + Ability to lift heavy materials up to 75 lbs. regularly.

    + Capability to learn overhead crane and forklift operation.

    Nice-To-Have Skills

    + Knowledge of the water/wastewater industry or plumbing is beneficial.

    + Familiarity with blueprints and schematics is a plus.

    + Understanding of tolerances is desirable.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a small shop with a team of 6-8 employees, amid various machines and piping. The environment can be dusty, requiring steel-toed boots and jeans or long pants. Join a larger network of 42-52 employees across the Midwest, ensuring ample opportunity for collaboration and growth.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
