Job Title: Detailer

Job Description

Join our team as a Detailer, where you will contribute to the final finish of precast concrete wall panels, ensuring they are visually appealing before they are sent to inventory. This role involves working outdoors year-round and requires attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

+ Complete the final finish on poured concrete production using power and hand tools.

+ Patch and blend structural concrete, working with various raw materials.

+ Prepare finished products for shipment and repair any issues.

+ Smooth and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete.

+ Remove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patch holes.

+ Operate pressure washers and sandblasting equipment as needed.

+ Identify, understand, and report safety hazards and unsafe actions immediately.

+ Ensure daily 5S compliance.

+ Utilize power tools, grinders, wrenches, tweezers, pliers, and tape measures to complete tasks.

+ Read work orders and tape measures accurately.

Essential Skills

+ General production and construction experience.

+ Concrete finishing skills.

+ Ability to read blueprints (1-2 years preferred).

+ Proficiency with power tools.

+ Ability to lift 20 to 40 pounds consistently and push/pull up to 75 pounds.

+ Experience in standing, bending, and working for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in general production, construction, carpentry, remodeling, or heavy landscaping is preferred.

Work Environment

This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. Shifts typically start at 6am and last for 9 to 10 hours during the busy summer season, with potential overtime on Saturdays. The environment is dirty and dusty, requiring appropriate dress such as jeans, steel-toed boots, and weather-appropriate clothing. PPE including safety glasses, hard hats, and hearing protection are provided based on department needs. Join a team of 6 to 10 crew members in a large plant with a family-type culture.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
