Job Title: Resident Project Representative Job Description
The Resident Project Representative is responsible for conducting on-site observations to monitor progress and ensure the quality of work aligns with contract documents. This role serves as the engineer’s liaison with the contractor, maintaining adequate records including a daily logbook and a set of drawings noting authorized changes. Additionally, the representative reviews the contractor’s application for payment and performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
+ Remain on the job site for the entirety of the project’s construction.
+ Maintain detailed reports of work progress and contractor compliance with the progress schedule.
+ Review progress schedule, shop drawing and sample submittals, schedule of values, and other submittals prepared by the contractor.
+ Attend meetings with the contractor, including preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences, and others.
+ Comply with site safety programs.
+ Assist the engineer in serving as the owner’s liaison with the contractor and obtain additional details or information as required.
+ Review applications for payment with the contractor for compliance with the established submission procedure.
+ Forward any recommendations to the assigned engineer.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Professional experience in the construction and/or construction inspection of underground utilities systems, including water lines, sanitary sewer lines, storm sewer lines, and water/wastewater treatment plants.
+ Ability to read civil construction plans and specifications.
+ Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
+ Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and stay overnight as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience as Construction Inspectors/RPRs with civil inspection experience, preferably INDOT inspectors or water/wastewater inspectors.
+ Experience as Construction Team Leads, Foremen, or Managers with 5+ years of experience within underground wet utilities and/or treatment plants.
Work Environment
Candidates must be open and willing to travel overnight, staying in hotels or apartments paid for by the company. They will use their personal vehicle and be reimbursed 70 cents per mile for mileage related to job site travel. Projects are located throughout Indiana, with efforts to keep assignments close to home. Standard construction hours are from 7 AM to 4 PM, with potential for overtime up to 50+ hours as needed. The team includes 25-28 RPRs managed by dedicated construction managers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.50/hr.
