Job Title: Yard Worker

Job Description

The Yard Worker will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and organization of the yard. Responsibilities include pulling inventory orders from trucks, managing orders using a forklift, and assisting with client deliveries. While the Yard Worker will not drive vehicles, they will accompany full-time employees on deliveries.

Responsibilities

+ Pull inventory orders off trucks and place them in designated areas.

+ Utilize a forklift to handle orders and load them onto trucks.

+ Assist with deliveries to clients by accompanying full-time employees.

+ Ensure the yard is organized and safe for all personnel.

Essential Skills

+ Forklift operation experience (minimum 6 months).

+ General labor and construction experience.

+ Proficiency in using hand tools.

+ Experience working in an outdoor environment (minimum 6 months).

+ At least 6 months of framing experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in manufacturing or construction environments.

Work Environment

This role involves working both indoors and outdoors, requiring appropriate dress for various weather conditions. The team consists of approximately 100 individuals, including inventory staff, office personnel, runners, framers, installers, and management. Yard workers join a team of about 25 individuals performing similar tasks. The standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and every other Saturday from 7:00 am to noon. During busy periods, hours extend from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays. Attire includes jeans and a t-shirt, with gloves, safety glasses, and a hard hat provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grimes, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
