Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and running high-speed technical machinery, focusing on efficiency to minimize downtime and setup times. Your primary goal is to ensure the production of quality products for our customers.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate a high-speed printing press machine.
+ Work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety protocols.
+ Limit scrap waste, deliver it to the proper department when the scrap truck is full, and accurately tag for waste reporting.
+ Collect top and bottom sheets to expedite the converting process.
+ Practice good lock out/tag out procedures.
+ Follow reporting processes for accurate completion of production paperwork and CTI/HRMS.
+ Mount die boards, assist in the setup of the machine, and keep the machine running.
+ Read and understand production order copies for every production run, assisting the operator in ensuring quality.
+ Understand machine mechanical functionality and conduct in-depth cleaning of the press when scheduled.
Essential Skills
+ 2 years of high-speed machine operating experience.
+ Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler, and use basic shop math.
+ Experience working in a high-speed packaging environment with a focus on packaging and labeling.
+ Capability to work with a sense of urgency without compromising attention to detail and quality.
+ Comfortable with lifting up to 60 lbs. throughout the day.

+ Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment
Our facility is a brand-new, state-of-the-art, green building with 26 dock doors and $30 million worth of technology. The non-climate-controlled environment is well-ventilated, though warmer temperatures are expected during summer. Safety equipment such as steel-toed boots, vests, glasses, and ear protection are mandatory. The facility is spacious, requiring extensive walking. We operate across two main departments: Converting and Corrugating, with shifts available across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. Shift hours are designed to accommodate extended workweeks, with potential for overtime.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
