Structural Engineering Intern - Summer

This role is for a Structural Engineering Intern located in the Columbus, OH office. As a summer intern you will assist other structural engineers with various project tasks that may include engineering design, contract document production and construction phase engineering support. You will be mentored by a group of professional engineers and technical experts in designing facilities such as water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities for water and wastewater plants, and conveyance systems like vaults, channels, and culverts.
As part of our team, our goal is to provide a training opportunity to engage in the roles and responsibilities of an infrastructure focused structural engineer. You will also collaborate with our CAD designers to communicate how structural requirements get translated into construction drawings. This role will help you build a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Structural Engineering and show how structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines.
*Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
* Good communication (both written and verbal), problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Ideally, you’ll also have:
* Entering at least a Junior year of University education
* Self-driven time management and organizational skills
* Experience with a PDF editor such as Bluebeam and computer aided drafting programs such as Revit and Microstation
This position will be open for at least 3 days.
