Your impact
Jacobs has a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, financially and technically savvy leader to join our Global Operating Units as a Finance Manager. You will provide strategic insights and support to drive business performance and achieve financial objectives in one of the fast-growing business units of Advanced Facilities, Energy & Power or Digital & Data.
You’ll be a finance partner to a Vice President within the Americas region of one of the global businesses. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the success of annual business planning, quarterly forecasting, along with timely and accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports and analysis, financial presentation preparation and ad-hoc analysis for your leadership team. You’ll highlight business trends, develop KPI’s and provide insights to help drive improvement in financial metrics. More than financial leadership, you will be a true strategic partner to your stakeholders. Stakeholder management, being a true strategic partner and ability to synthesize and effectively communicate key aspects to the business unit leadership team will be key.
You will prepare detailed financial models, ad hoc analysis and forecasts to support data-driven decisions and long-term planning, moving further towards predictive modelling. Part of your role will be to develop and implement an improvement plan to standardize, simplify and where possible automate key processes consistently with Jacobs’s tools and processes to make better use of our existing tools and drive next stage improvements.
This position can be remote but aligned to a Jacobs office based in the US.
What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Reporting, Budgeting & Forecasting
* Prepare timely and accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports and analysis for Finance Stakeholders and Operations partners.
* Support the forecast and annual budget process, consolidating inputs, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy of submissions.
* Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition, cost accruals, and overhead allocations within assigned business units.
* Develop working knowledge of Jacobs’ financial systems and tools to drive process improvements.
Finance Business Partnering
* Provide financial insights and analysis to Controllers and business leaders, highlighting key trends, KPIs, and risks.
* Partner with operations to track and improve working capital metrics, including DSO.
* Assist with project reporting and margin analysis to ensure compliance with company policy.
* Support risk and opportunity identification across project portfolios.
* Contribute to process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
Corporate Governance
* Provide accurate data and responses for internal and external audit requests.
* Ensure compliance with SOX, IFRS, and company policies.
* Support knowledge sharing and best practices within the Finance team.
* Finance Expertise: Experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting within a complex organization; professional services sector experience preferred.
* Business Acumen: Growing ability to understand financial and operational drivers; applies best practices to improve analysis and processes.
* Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong financial modeling and problem-solving skills; capable of analyzing straightforward to moderately complex issues using standard approaches.
* Collaboration & Communication: Effective communicator, able to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial colleagues and build strong working relationships.
* Independence & Growth: Works independently on defined assignments, seeking guidance for complex situations; motivated to expand expertise and take on increasing responsibility.
* Systems Knowledge: Proficiency with financial systems such as Hyperion, Oracle Planning, or similar; Excel and data analysis skills essential.
