General Statement of Job
Performs advanced professional work training and onboarding Recreation Services staff; assists with administrative operations; does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision.
Essential Functions
+ Implements and creates customer service training for staff, including providing tours of the City and Recreation Services Department.
+ Conducts new hire department orientations and assists with the onboarding process. Supervises participants utilizing facilities, enforces policies and maintains order.
+ Meets with public and handles complaints addresses customer concerns and inquiries from website and social media.
+ Creates customer service manuals.
+ Drafts policies/procedure as related to Recreation Services.
+ Assists with department inquiries.
+ Maintains records and prepares reports.
+ Distributes center equipment, maintains accurate inventory records, and monitors usage within the facility.
Related tasks:
+ Assists with planning and organizing special events.
+ Creates training material such as presentations, worksheets, manuals, and videos.
+ Provides other job-related training opportunities for staff and volunteers.
+ Tracks training compliance for both Recreation Services staff and city trainings.
+ Plans and sets up training rooms.
+ Performs related tasks as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
+ The recreation/cultural arts fields
+ The principles and practices of customer service training
+ Basic cash accounting principles
+ Computer software systems
Skilled in:
+ Public speaking and creating presentations
+ Operating computerized systems
Ability to:
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, associates, and the general public
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
+ Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with major course work in recreation administration, customer service, hospitality or related field.
+ One (1) year of customer service experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Previous employee training experience.

Days/Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30A - 2:30P
Nights, evenings, weekends as needed.

Part-Time Employees
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible to receive Paid Leave and to contribute to the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, a part-time employee must have worked at least 1,040 hours in the prior fiscal year
PAID LEAVE: Employees who work a minimum of 1,040 hours per fiscal year will receive twelve (12) hours of Paid Leave on October 1st. This Paid Leave shall be used no later than September 30th of that fiscal year or it will be forfeited. These hours may not accumulate and may only be granted with the approval of the employee's supervisor. This paid leave has no cash value at separation of employment.
MISSION SQUARE 457 DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN: Employees who work a minimum of 1,040 hours per fiscal year will be allowed to participate in the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan. The City will not provide any matching funds.
