    The Role at a glance:

    We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven **Purchasing Manager** to join our team at **Constellation Culinary Group team in New York, NY** . This role is essential to ensuring that our operation runs smoothly and efficiently by managing all aspects of procurement for the venue.

     

    As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing food, beverages, equipment, and supplies needed to support events and daily operations. You’ll work closely with the Director of Operations, Executive Chef & culinary team, and operations leadership to ensure quality, cost control, and timely delivery of all goods.

    What you'll be doing:

    Oversee all purchasing activities for food, beverages, equipment, linens, and supplies.

     

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure quality products at competitive pricing.

    • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to ensure cost-effective procurement.

    • Track inventory levels to avoid shortages and overstocking.

    • Coordinate with culinary, operations, and facilities teams to meet event and day-to-day needs.

    • Implement and maintain purchasing policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.

    • Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and vendor documentation.

    • Monitor product quality and resolve any vendor issues quickly and professionally.

    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.

    • Prepare regular reports on purchasing metrics, budget performance, and vendor spend.

    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to meet event schedules.

    • Assist with audits and compliance requirements as needed.

    • Adhere to Elior’s compliant vendor policy

    • Ensure purchasing team & receivers are adhering to the policies and procedures related to product rotation, cleanliness, proper storage, purchasing product per shopping list and purchasing based on business levels.

    What we're looking for:

    + **3+ years of experience** in purchasing or procurement, preferably in hospitality, catering, or food service.

    + Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.

    + Excellent organizational and time management abilities with high attention to detail.

    + Proficiency in purchasing systems, inventory tracking, and basic financial reporting.

    + Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.

    + Flexible schedule to accommodate business needs, including evenings or weekends as needed.

    + Knowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality equipment is highly desirable.

    + **Valid driver’s license** preferred.

     

    Compensation Range
