Position: Facilities Safety Coordinator
Pay Range: $27.20/hr up to 31.25/hr, based upon education and related experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30a-4:30p, with some flexibility to work outside of the schedule to meet the needs of the program and those served
Central Location: Homestead area of Pittsburgh, PA

JOB SUMMARY:
The Facilities Safety Coordinator mitigates workplace risks and hazards through policy, procedure and program implementation. The Safety and Support Specialist functions as a liaison between all levels of management and has direct involvement with organization-wide service operations, inspections, training and investigations. This role will promote, model and reinforce a _culture of safety_ within the workplace and do so in accordance with the Devereux Mission and Core Values.
Core Job Responsibilities:
+ Develop, implement, and maintain risk management and safety programs, including emergency operations, hazard communication, PPE protocols, workplace violence prevention, and safety committee initiatives.
+ Conduct regular safety, security, and health inspections; investigate workplace incidents, employee injuries, and safety concerns; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
+ Coordinate with facility access control and contracted security personnel; serve as a liaison with emergency responders during crisis and non-crisis situations.
+ Review injury/property damage reports; identify workplace hazards; conduct audits and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
+ Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements; support safety-related training initiatives.
+ Maintain regular and reliable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
**EDUCATION:** Associate’s Degree in social service, public safety, risk management, or related field, and/or experience as approved by the Administrative Director.
**EXPERIENCE:** 1-3 years of experience in a public service and/or education industry with core responsibilities directly relating to workplace safety.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ Demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety and security practices; credentialing in a crisis prevention/intervention training model _preferred_ ; training in a disaster/emergency response model
+ Pre-employment drug screening, PA State Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances, and FBI Clearance. Must be able to provide three (3) references
+ Must be 21 years of age or older (required)
+ Should be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** Requires regular walking and standing ½ to ¾ of the workday; seldom requires sitting—about ¼ to ½ of the workday. Frequently requires stooping, bending and kneeling. Lifting weights up to 50 lbs.Requires continuous normal hearing, reading, hand and eye coordination for typing, writing and, reading comprehension, legible handwriting, and clear speech. Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.
