    Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the Administrative Assistant III – Assistant to the Chief of Staff (Full-time) position in the Personnel Management division. This position is located at Atlanta Technical College’s Main Campus, just south of Downtown Atlanta.

     

    Under the general supervision of the Chief of Staff, the Administrative Assistant III – Assistant to the Chief of Staff (Full-Time) provides advanced technical-level support and office administration.

    Job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:

    • Receive internal and external customers and direct them to the appropriate offices and/or services.

    • Assist upper-level management in organizing and executing routine activities and special projects, including tasks and assignments associated with support functions for the Chief of Staff.

    • Act as liaison with outside organizations to gather or report program-related information.

    • Plan and coordinate meetings, conferences, seminars and travel calendars.

    • Monitor use of and maintain supplies, equipment and/or facilities for assigned department.

    • Document data / information such as organizational unit or program area work activity, purchasing, budget expenditures, program changes, and resource utilization.

    • Prepare reports and communications.

    • Enter data from forms, records, reports and/or other sources into computer for purposes such as maintaining databases.

    • Use complex software (e.g. database, spreadsheet, and graphics) as a tool for performing clerical assignments.

    • Complete incidental typing assignments, such as typing routine documents, performing mail mergers, and creating labels.

    • Assist the manager in organizing and executing routine activities and special projects, including meetings of the Local Board of Directors.

    • Participate in special projects and committees as directed by the supervisor.

    • Conduct extensive research to compile information needed to generate reports, complete projects and accurately respond to questions and concerns.

    • Compile and maintain employees' time records.

    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Knowledge of TCSG rules, policies and procedures.

    • Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.

    • Skill in basic conflict resolution.

    • Decision making and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritize workload.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Must possess and demonstrate an Associate’s Degree in Business Administrative Technology AND Two (2) years of related work experience; OR Bachelor’s Degree AND One (1) year of work-related experience

     

    Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis AND Three (3) years of work-related experience.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.

    • Knowledge of Atlanta Technical College practices and procedures.

    • Experience with Banner.

    • Experience in diverse administrative areas.
