    THE POSITION

As a Security Officer 2, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our facilities, students, and staff at the Hiram G. Andrews Center.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Security Officer 2, you will have a wide range of responsibilities that are essential to the safety and security of the Hiram G. Andrews Center and its occupants. Your duties will include overseeing Security Officers, assisting in building evacuations, acting as a liaison to the local police, enforcing rules and regulations, and investigating accidents and incidents. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining the door access and surveillance systems, as well as operating state vehicles to transport students and property. Additionally, part of your role may involve providing informational and instructional programs to educate employees and students about conduct, regulations, and laws at the facility. Furthermore, you will be responsible for using motorized transportation to conduct or assist with patrols, direct traffic, enforce vehicle regulations, and supervise traffic control for special events at the facility. You will also assist in directing visitors and providing information in a courteous manner. Another important aspect of your role will be acting as a first responder in emergency situations and ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 40 hours per week

    + Work hours are 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Additional shifts may be required including 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM. There is no unpaid lunch break for this position.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year as a Security Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ;or

    + Any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the knowledges, skills, and abilities required to provide supervisory security services.

    Special Requirement:

    + You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.
