his job is a full time, benefited, FLSA exempt position in the Health Sciences Division that reports to the Dean of Health Sciences.
Salary : Commensurate with education and experience $83,000/YR
Minimum Qualifications (Job Code 10607)
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Current GA veterinary License (or ability to obtain within six(6) months) * AND* ability to obtain DEA License or work under institutional DEA License. Minimum 2yrs relevant work experience.
Candidates for this position are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Refusal to take the test or a positive result will lead to separation and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment. Additionally, for any employment offer that includes a required drug test, the test must be completed within 48 hours. Failure to comply will result in the offer being rescinded and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, Five years of relevant work experience. Prior experience with: program accreditation, principles and techniques of educational methods, preparation and delivery of instruction, and curriculum design.
Job Description Summary:
Prepares and delivers lecture and/or lab course material. Assists in laboratory classes. Willingness to work with a variety of animal species such as dogs, cats, horses, cattle, birds, reptiles, and small mammals. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately. Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts.

Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
• Construct training modules, tools, materials, supplies and equipment to comply with local requirement for safety and security needs and in accordance with state and federal work safety standards.
• Ensure students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools.
• Ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times.
• Maintain a secure training and work area that proves freedom of movement for students during the performance of work and training assignments and complies with the security requirements of the organization.
• Ensure work-related projects are successfully completed and that they meet industrial standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides classroom instruction or assistance in instruction for one or more of the following subject areas: medical terminology, animal diseases, pharmacology, nursing and surgery, anesthesiology, office management, anatomy and physiology, clinical pathology, patient care.

+ Organize and conduct classes using a variety of learning experiences and activities.
+ Direct and supervise student learning.
+ Assist in program laboratory sessions both on campus and off campus.
+ Perform clinic visits of students at their clinical sites for observations or competency evaluations.
+ Demonstrate a positive attitude toward students.
+ Demonstrate current and comprehensive knowledge of the subject areas to be taught.
+ Orient the students to their responsibilities toward the clinical education sites and the school.
+ Performs student competency evaluations at off campus required seminars.
+ Provides instruction according to the established course syllabus.
