Rincon Consultants is excited to seek an **Attorney with environmental law experience** specializing in litigation and land use to join our growing in-house legal team.
Our legal team partners closely with Rincon’s professionals across business operations and environmental practice areas. Many of our colleagues are recognized leaders in their fields, and together we provide responsive, high-quality services that enhance Rincon’s reputation while ensuring our teams are well supported.
Work Location & Flexibility
We value collaboration while supporting flexibility. This role can include a mix of in-office and remote work. Candidates located within 50 miles of a Rincon office (Carlsbad, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Palm Springs, Riverside, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Ventura) are strongly preferred.
What You’ll Do
+ Partner with our environmental teams to provide legal guidance and risk assessments on projects
+ Research and communicate updates on relevant legislation and case law
+ Review environmental and land use documents
+ Manage and support contracts across the business
+ Develop strategies to minimize legal exposure while enabling business success
+ Collaborate with the General Counsel on a variety of legal matters
What We’re Looking For
+ J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed or eligible for admission to the California Bar
+ Significant legal experience (typically 5–7+ years) — environmental, land use, litigation, or contract experience a plus
+ Familiarity with CEQA/NEPA or other environmental review frameworks (3+ years preferred, but not required)
+ Ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, practical ways that support project and business needs
+ Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

The base salary range for this full-time position is $155,000–$185,000 per year, plus a generous benefits program. At Rincon, our salary ranges are based on market median of similar jobs, according to third party salary benchmark surveys. The base pay that is actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
