The **Fire Protection Service Manager** is responsible for managing all aspects of fire protection service operations and running small to medium size projects. This includes overseeing field staff, coordinating with customers, preparing estimates, scheduling work, conducting walk-throughs, and participating in the bidding process. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and proven experience working with both commercial and federal government clients, with an understanding of the federal procurement process. The Service Manager is expected to uphold a high standard of quality, ensure safety compliance, and stay engaged with industry advancements and certifications.
Responsibilities
+ Manage fire protection service operations and oversee small to medium size projects from planning through completion.
+ Ensure all work is delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with NFPA, federal, state, and local codes.
+ Maintain a high level of quality in service delivery.
+ Serve as the primary liaison for customers, including federal government clients, ensuring strong communication and satisfaction.
+ Conduct site walk-throughs, evaluate needs, and provide tailored service solutions.
+ Build and sustain long-term client relationships.
+ Direct, schedule, and support technicians and project crews.
+ Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance oversight.
+ Ensure staff have necessary training, resources, and adhere to safety practices.
+ Participate in the bidding process including proposal development, pricing, and technical reviews.
+ Develop accurate cost estimates for service work and projects.
+ Ensure proposals comply with federal procurement regulations (FAR, DFARS, etc.) when required.
+ Create and manage efficient service and project schedules.
+ Coordinate procurement of materials, subcontractors, and specialized equipment.
+ Demonstrate strong multitasking skills by managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
+ Ensure all service and project work meets regulatory and company standards.
+ Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
+ Pursue industry certifications and encourage continuous development among staff.
+ Stay updated on emerging technologies, codes, and best practices in fire protection.
+ Maintain accurate service and project documentation.
+ Track KPIs such as budget performance, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction.
+ Provide leadership with regular operational updates.
Qualifications
Education & Experience Required:
+ High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience
+ Associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience.
+ Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of experience.
+ Ability to obtain a secret Clearance.
Abilities:
+ Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
+ Sitting for extended periods of time.
+ Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
+ Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
