    JOB SUMMARY

    The Talent & Development Advisor plays a vital role in supporting the coordination and delivery of talent and learning initiatives that promote employee development, leadership growth, and overall talent effectiveness. This role works closely with the Talent & Development Managers and ensures smooth delivery and execution of programs and processes.

     

    The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping others grow. They bring strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while understanding how their work contributes to broader organizational goals.

     

    Career Development is supported through exposure to enterprise-wide initiatives, cross-functional collaboration, and ongoing learning opportunities. This role can serve as a foundation for advancement into more strategic or senior-level positions within Talent Management or broader HR functions.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Program Coordination & Support

    + Provide day-to-day operational support to Talent & Development Managers to ensure consistent and timely delivery of talent initiatives across the organization.

    + Coordinate the logistics for core talent processes such as Talent Reviews, Succession Planning, and Performance Management.

    + Manage administrative tasks for learning and development programs, including enrollment, preparing materials, and sending communications.

    + Execute the scheduling and logistical administration of psychometric assessments, professional coaching engagements, and other developmental tools, ensuring accurate documentation and timely participant communication.

    + Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to align local talent delivery strategies with enterprise-wide initiatives.

    + Respond to inquiries from employees and managers regarding talent and learning programs, escalating complex issues as needed.

    Data Management & Reporting

    + Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of talent and learning activities, including program participation, development plans, performance data, and succession planning inputs.

    + Track and monitor key metrics related to talent initiatives, ensuring data integrity across systems and tools.

    + Generate reports and dashboards to assess program effectiveness, participation trends, and progress against development goals, enabling informed decision making.

    + Support data collection efforts for talent reviews and performance management activities.

    + Assist in preparing presentations and summaries that translate data insights into actionable recommendations.

    + Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee information in accordance with WM’s data privacy standards.

    + Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline data tracking and reporting processes.

    Continuous Improvement

    + Organize and synthesize feedback gathered by Talent & Development Managers from participants, facilitators, and stakeholders to identify trends and inform enhancements to program content, delivery, and logistics.

    + Collaborate with Talent & Development Advisors to share best practices, challenges, and key items.

    + Assist in updating and distributing communication materials, user guides, and toolkits to promote program understanding and adoption, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with feedback.

    + Research and share best practices in employee engagement and talent development to support ongoing program refinement.

    + Maintain a repository of lessons learned, FAQs, and improvement ideas to support knowledge sharing and future planning.

    **QUALIFICATIONS:** The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job:

    Education

    Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Human Resources, Business administration, or similar area of study. In lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) + 2 years of relevant work experience.

    Work Experience

    2 years of related work experience in HR, Talent Management, or Learning & Development (in addition to education requirement)

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident in facilitating discussions and presenting to diverse audiences.

    + Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and matrixed environment.

    Technical Proficiency

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); capable of creating polished materials and reports

    + Familiarity with talent and learning systems, assessment tools, and HR platforms; experience with Oracle, SuccessFactors, LMS, or HRIS is a plus.

    + Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships, listen actively, and collaborate across teams.

    Other Requirements

    + May require up to 15% travel.

    Normal setting for this job is working from our headquarter office (800 Capitol St.) in downtown- Houston, TX. Working on a hybrid schedule (Mon-Thur in office)

     

    The expected pay range for this hybrid position across the U.S is $75K- 90,000K. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
