POSITION SUMMARY
Assists in the coordination of the inventory control and in developing specifications in compliance with health and safety issues and material handling of a large warehouse/ parts room operation to ensure adequate supplies are available for appropriate City departments and/or community groups.

Salary: $45,263 per year.
Union: This position is included in the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, Local 2719 bargaining unit and will be filled in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

+ A current, valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License (or out-of-state equivalent) is required prior to appointment and must be maintained throughout employment. Qualifying Requirements:
Your work experience and education/training will be evaluated to determine if you meet the qualifying eligibility requirements listed below for this position. You will receive notice of your eligibility status.
+ WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must show one (1) year of full-time experience maintaining a computerized inventory management system, which includes six (6) months of experience using Microsoft Office Software (e.g., Word, Excel). (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.)
+ EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a high school diploma or GED Equivalency. (See NOTE under General Application Requirements regarding education/training verification.)
+ EQUIVALENCY: Education/training may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above). The Total Qualifying Requirement is one (1) year. (See NOTE under General Application Requirements regarding education/training verification.)

POSITION DUTIES
+ Maintains Inventory Management System (IMS) for the supplies, equipment, parts, and materials used by various City departments and/or community groups.
+ Compiles and maintains records and prepares inventory reports, both manually and by computer, on the quantity, cost, type of supplies, materials, and equipment received, stocked, and issued.
+ Develops working product specifications with the manager to ensure purchases comply with health and safety regulations.
+ Inventories supplies, equipment, parts, and materials; compiles inventory projection reports to determine quantities of items to order.
+ Prepares requisitions, departmental invoice forms, memoranda, bid specifications for contracts, and inventory reports.
+ Orders supplies, materials, parts, and equipment.
+ Coordinates distribution (and returns) of supplies, materials, parts, and equipment to City departments and/or community groups.
+ Contacts vendors regarding availability of items, prices, delivery dates, repairs, maintenance, and general information.
+ Maintains records and files for all purchases, order requisitions, special deliveries, pick-ups, all items on loan, maintenance requests, print shop requests, special distributions, recycling pick-up requests, etc.
+ Verifies orders received and reports, and refuses products that do not meet contract and/or order specifications.
+ Loads and unloads supplies, equipment, etc., manually and/or with appropriate equipment and stocks shelves.
+ Reconciles vendor receiving slips and invoices for accuracy and payment.
+ Maintains current listing of all bin locations for inventoried and stored items; labels all items in warehouse/parts room with number, description, unit of measure, and bin location.
+ Develops order forms and invoices, and determines the cost of items ordered by community groups.
+ Prepares items for product comparisons to recommend contractual purchases.
+ Assists in determining optimal layout of items in warehouse/parts room to ensure efficient operations and employee safety.
+ Performs other related tasks and duties as assigned or required.
