Overview:

Quinnipiac University's invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Coach, Women's Softball. This position will assist in program management including coaching, administration, recruitment and coordination of a collegiate Women’s Softball program.

The University is a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League (ECAC), the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), the Big East Conference and is an NCAA Division I member sponsoring 21 varsity sports.

Responsibilities:

+ Coach student-athletes during team practices as well as home and away contests

+ Primarily responsible for the instruction of pitchers

+ Assist with recruiting (on and off campus as assigned), scheduling, budget administration and team promotion

+ Assist in the future development of Women’s Softball alumni and community relations

+ Assist the Head Coach with daily/weekly/seasonal practice planning

+ Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, NCAA, MAAC Conference, ECAC Conference and Big East Conference rules and regulations

+ Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree preferred.

+ Relevant experience may be substituted for some education requirements

Qualifications:

+ 2-3 years of experience in softball required

+ Softball skills required

+ Effective oral and written communication skills required

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office

+ Ability to manage a 2-3 hour practice

+ Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

+ Ability to work nights and weekends

+ Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds
