Position Summary
HIGHLIGHTS
The Office of the Dean of Students at the State University of New York College at Geneseo works directly with students to assist them in adjusting to college life and to resolve problems and conflicts that may arise during their undergraduate or graduate careers. The Office of the Dean of Students oversees Student Conduct, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Health and Counseling, Health Promotion, and CAREs. The department is part of the Division of Student and Campus Life.
The Student Conduct Coordinator’s primary function is to assist the Assistant Dean of Students with the areas of student conduct and related programming, training, follow-up, and publications. The Student Conduct Coordinator will adjudicate Level 1 and Level 2 conduct cases, including matters involving interpersonal violence and/or under the purview of the Title IX Grievance Policy.

Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ At least one year of demonstrated experience in student conduct/judicial affairs/law or other field where similar competencies are required
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to independently compose letters, memos, reports, and other written communication materials for a variety of audiences
+ Ability to respond calmly in crises
+ Impeccable integrity and respect for confidentiality
+ A demonstrated commitment and contribution to fostering and advancing the College’s core values of equity, diversity and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, law enforcement, or other applicable field
+ Two or more years of demonstrated experience in student conduct/judicial affairs/law, or other related field
+ Experience working on a residential campus
+ Experience developing and conducting training/workshops
+ Proven collaboration with law enforcement, public safety agencies, counseling, and health services staff.
+ Experience with Maxient or comparable records management software
License/Certification

+ Ability to review matters in an objective and unbiased manner
+ Ability to ensure due process for all student conduct procedures and the consistent application of the Student Code of Conduct and other relevant Campus Policies
+ Ability to be a productive, high-performing, and collaborative team member
+ Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain meticulous records
+ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing interests

Function 1: Case Adjudication
+ Adjudicates level I and level II cases in alignment with the College’s policies and procedures
+ Convene student conduct boards, sexual misconduct boards, and appellate boards, as appropriate
+ Administrative hearing officer for Title IX student boards

Function 2: Case Management
Assist with the case management for student conduct and other cases logged in the Maxient system, including:
+ reception of incident reports
+ creation of cases
+ monitoring overdue sanctions
+ attending CAREs meetings as needed

Function 3: Daily Operations
Assist with managing the day-to-day operation of Student Conduct, including:
+ triaging student concerns
+ receiving phone calls
+ sending correspondence
+ work closely with University Police and other student life staff as needed regarding individual cases
+ interface with Residence Life, Student Health and Counseling, and University Police to advocate for the general welfare of individual students and the common good
