    Job Description

    The Director of Warehousing and Logistics supports Human Technologies’ mission of Creating Employment for People with Disabilities by developing, coordinating, and directing the warehousing, order fulfillment, Customer Service, and Department of State activities associated with our Products service contracts.Directly supervises Manager of Warehouse and Distribution, Manager of Shipping and Receiving, Customer Service representatives and Department of State Operations Supervisor.Externally collaborates with:Vendors, SourceAmerica, NYSID, customersInternally collaborates with:Vice President of Products, Vice President of Business Development, Finance, Quality, Safety, Manufacturing Operations, Information Technology, Human Resources, Maintenance.

    Requirements

    Responsibilities:1.Develop, implement and monitor operating policies and procedures that will ensure effective and efficient operations while meeting the company’s mission.2. Create and maintain a quality work environment for employees, with priorities to safety, training, and opportunities for growth.3. Support HTC’s mission and advocate for the employment of people with disabilities or other barriers to employment on and off the job.4. Provide top-level leadership to the warehouse, and related activities, and establish a culture of excellence by continually communicating and reinforcing the vision, goals, objectives and expectations, establishing measurable key performance indicators, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and effectively communicating results up and down the organization.5. Review all Requests for Quotes, Performance Work Statements, and Contract requirements as they pertain to our uniform programs. Support business development by providing technical support, operations plans, quality plans, and cost estimates in areas of responsibility. Work with established costing/pricing models to provide quotes directly to customers when requested. Present, or participate in, proposal presentations to new and existing customers.

     

    6. Perform initial assessment of the requirements contained within Request For Quote (RFQ) from the US Department of State (DOS) as it pertains to product requirements, warranties, shipment requirements and all other requirements. Approve all outgoing quotes to and all incoming awards from Program.7. Oversee order fulfillment and warehouse management to develop plans and schedules to support customer requirements.8. Oversee Customer Service department, ensuring staff is trained to provide expected levels of order administration services and technical advice for internal and external customers.9. Establish and maintain procedures to satisfy all contractual and transactional requirements relative to discontinued and/or obsolete material with both external and internal customers, including customer notification, phase in/phase out plans, replacement recommendations and approval processes, web store and catalog changes, and adjustment to price where necessary.10. Lead all inventory control processes to ensure inventory counts are correct and cycle count processes are followed.11. Oversee and maintain all ISO 9001:2015 quality system requirements in areas of responsibility. Lead improvement projects.12. Develop and communicate metrics and Key Performance Indicators that effectively measure the performance of the operation, including trending.13. Oversee and maintain all Business Control System input/output requirements in areas of responsibility to ensure accuracy and timeliness of management data.14. Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of staffing and logistics plans which emphasize effective and accountable management and supervision, employment of people with disabilities, compliance with labor ratios and company policies, and meet expectations for customer satisfaction, quality, contract compliance, and profitability.15. Oversee the recruiting, hiring, retention, corrective action, and termination activities within areas of responsibility, and make recommendations for improvements, ensuring that all employee-related actions and decisions consistently reflect HT’s policies, procedure, guidelines, and beliefs.16. Establish operational standards, systems, and procedures which emphasize consistent execution of contract requirements and a proactive approach towards eliminating or minimizing non-conformances and inefficiencies.17. Approve resolutions for non-conforming material and related payment/financial transaction issues with all impacted departments.18. Participate in the development and implementation of corporate strategic planning and annual business plans, including measurable operational objectives.19. Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, classes or programs.20. Approve timesheets for all assigned employees.

    21. Provide on-the-job training to employees and monitor performance to ensure direct reports are competent or moving to competency in their assigned positions.22. Evaluate and document employee performance as required by the company, AbilityOne, and/or NYSID.23. Actively participate in corporate safety by following all safety procedures, creating a safe working environment and practicing and training employees in safe and proper work habits and equipment use.24. Perform other duties as assigned by Vice President of Products.

     

    Qualifications:1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field experience in a dynamic mixed mode environment, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the requirements.2. Hands-on experience developing and managing programs in excess of $30MM and conducting financial reviews and analysis to determine profitability of operations and outcomes of business units.3. Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with MS office products and Business Control Systems (ERP) software.4. Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP) business operations experience strongly preferred. Working knowledge of SourceAmerica/AbilityOne, NYSID, DOL preferred.5. Must have a valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation and have and maintain a driving record in accordance with Human Technologies’ Liability/Automotive Insurance carrier.6. Must pass any required federal, state, municipality, and/or customer-specific background checks.
