Summary This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Facilities Support Services Division. As a Chief Stationary Engineer, you will be responsible for the operations and personnel of the Power Plant. The incumbent manages and oversees the operation and maintenance of the DCF's utility plants and systems. Responsibilities As a Chief Stationary Engineer, you will: - Direct the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of the DCF's electric substation, high- and low-pressure steam distribution and condensate return systems for heating and humidification, air-conditioning and refrigerating systems, and air and water pressure systems throughout the DCF. - Coordinate plans with subordinate Assistant Chief Stationary Engineers on the operation of the plants and on servicing and performing repairs on mechanical systems. - Perform constant reviews on operating and servicing functions to provide continuous service and to prevent breakdowns. Requirements Conditions of Employment A probationary or trial period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period. A one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required. Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires.
