Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the general direction of a Licensed Team Member, performs a variety of clinical and clerical tasks in support of clinical care activities in a dental outpatient environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Maintains inventory of equipment, instruments and supplies.
+ Assists with replacements/repairs.
+ Maximizes room utilization through inventory, stocking, cleaning of operatories, and daily preparation of dental units.
+ Maintains cleanliness of waiting room.
+ Anticipates and prepares equipment, material, and supply needs in consideration of patient/procedure complexity in support of timely and efficient clinic operations and provider schedules.
+ Contacts patients to schedule/reschedule patient appointments.
+ Maintains accurate demographic information in the scheduling system.
+ Notifies of patient arrival and escorts patients through the clinic.
+ Provides special assistance for non-ambulatory patients.
+ Follows standard clinical safety protocol for Patient Identification Verification.
+ Enters patient data into the electronic medical record.
+ Reviews discharge instructions with patient as prepared by provider.
+ Implements standard infection prevention measures, such as hand hygiene and surface decontamination, in accordance with EIOH infection prevention policy.
+ Performs basic dental laboratory procedures such as model pouring for dentures and partials.
+ Collects data for quality improvement/departmental studies.
+ Supports and assists in research as directed.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ High School diploma or High School Student in good academic standing required
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and computer experience preferred
