Job Title: Casting Engineering Technician
Classification: Non-Exempt
Department: Casting
Reports to: Casting Manager
Role: M-F
Position Summary:
Assists engineers in developing, designing and maintaining systems and equipment, applying technical skills and knowledge for a 24/7 operation.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Requires constant physical activity throughout shift such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
+ Troubleshooting equipment, support maintenance in repairs as needed.
+ Assisting in Installing new systems or equipment as well as assisting in long term planning, future business and future projects.
+ Train employees in the process and understanding of the equipment
+ Creating solutions to resolve production/mechanical downtime and failures with a continual focus on all manufacturing floor safety concerns and countermeasures.
+ Develop and implement productivity, quality and continuous process improvements.
+ Helping engineers develop process improvements, new methods, or products.
+ Perform detailed mathematical calculations and analysis to identify and solve engineering problems as well as various types of data collection.
+ Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, under the supervision of engineers, to investigate the causes of equipment failures and find solutions.
+ Develops and implements plans for continuous overall equipment effectiveness (OEE); improve yields, uptime and cycle times of equipment, improve product flow, and cost reduction.

+ Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience:
+ Associate's degree in engineering technology or similar preferred.
+ Minimum of 3 years is preferred in aluminum manufacturing setting.
