Director of Technical Solutions – Fire & Safety Summary
The Director of Technical Solutions will lead the strategic development, execution, and monetization of IDEX Fire & Safety’s connected digital platforms— **Captium for Rescue Tools** , **Captium Firelink for OEMs and Apparatus** , and the **Elevate software ecosystem** . This role owns the global roadmap for product management, software development, and business development across all regions, driving adoption of connected IoT solutions and maximizing value through multi-channel commercialization.
This leader will oversee cross-functional teams spanning software development, product, sales, and marketing, ensuring alignment between agile and waterfall methodologies. The role demands a visionary strategist and pragmatic executor who can translate industry needs into scalable, profitable solutions that transform how fire and rescue professionals operate.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Ownership & Industry Adoption
+ Define and execute the global strategy for Captium and Firelink platforms across Rescue Tools, OEMs, and Apparatus.
+ Drive industry-wide adoption through insurance, certification, and regulatory pathways.
+ Build and maintain strategic partnerships with OEMs, municipalities, and regulatory bodies.
Software Development Leadership
+ Oversee Elevate software development lifecycle, balancing agile and waterfall methodologies.
+ Align software features with VOC, compliance, and performance benchmarks.
+ Ensure modular architecture supports future scalability and integration with IoT platforms.
Global Business Development
+ Lead global go-to-market strategy for connected solutions, including channel enablement, training, and fleet migration.
+ Develop and execute monetization models across direct, OEM, and aftermarket channels.
+ Identify and pursue new markets, applications, and revenue streams.
Product Management & Execution
+ Own the digital product portfolio roadmap, including phase-in/phase-out strategies.
+ Drive 80/20 optimization, complexity reduction, and product rationalization.
+ Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and operations to ensure delivery velocity and margin expansion.
IoT & Connected Solutions
+ Champion the integration of IoT telemetry, diagnostics, and predictive analytics into Captium and Firelink platforms.
+ Ensure data security, interoperability, and compliance across global deployments.
+ Translate connected insights into actionable tools for end users and stakeholders.
Relationships & Authority
+ Reports to: VP Products & Strategy Fire & Safety
+ Direct Reports: Software Development Leads, Business Development Managers
+ Key Interfaces: Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, OEM Partners

Qualifications
+ 10+ years in product management, software development, or business development in industrial or safety markets
+ BA/BS required. MBA preferred.
+ Proven success in leading global teams and launching digital platforms
+ Deep understanding of agile and waterfall methodologies
+ Experience with IoT, SaaS, and connected hardware/software ecosystems
+ Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning skills

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $131,500.00 - $197,300.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
