Job Description Summary

This role is responsible for coordinating and supervising mechanical maintenance activities for all site equipment, including both fixed and rotating machinery. The position oversees mechanical craft teams and contractors to ensure safe operations and the timely delivery of high-quality services.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in mechanical maintenance across process engineering operations. They will ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, mechanical integrity standards, and reliability systems. As subject-matter expert, they will initiate and manage measures to meet legal and company requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Manage tasks such as planning, initiating, organizing, and managing routine maintenance by maintenance technicians. Direct contact with internal & external customers.

+ Coordinate activities of contractors, Evonik maintenance personnel, and/or team members to meet team and customer deadlines on site and in the region.

+ Manage field maintenance for mechanical equipment. Responsible for Mobile North Side Maintenance Key Accounts.

+ Ensures successful completion of documentation for maintenance activities, mechanical integrity, compliance items, technical changes, and maintenance projects.

+ In conjunction with the asset owner, monitor the overall condition of the plant, analyze the technical condition of equipment, and identify safety risks and other improvement opportunities. When problems occur, the incumbent search for root causes and avoids quick fixes.

+ Provide application assistance and support to the maintenance program as the leading expert in this field.

+ Serve as subject matter expert in the field of equipment maintenance (eg. pumps, PSV, compressors, motors, instrumentation). Drive the adoption of established maintenance & reliability best practices.

+ Develop and mentor the technicians to support the sites' future needs.

REQUIREMENTS

+ Bachelor degree or associates with several years of experience in the field of maintenance or five years' experience as a maintenance Planner/Supervisor are preferred.

+ This is a seasoned position with a minimum of five years of experience with maintenance and mechanical integrity programs in a chemical facility.

+ Strong background and broad-based experience in the field of maintenance, reliability, or engineering preferred. A practical knowledge of current maintenance & reliability best practices and condition monitoring technologies is required.

+ Be proficient in SAP and other programs needed for documentation and communication purposes.
