    SUMMARY: Title and responsibilities will be determined in a progressive manner based on skill and expertise within the same job group. Procures and manages all components as assigned in support of the Materials Requirements Planning system. Job functions include daily analysis and processing of MRP, building on supplier relationships, negotiation, expediting, maintenance of procurement system and requesting quotes for new and existing parts.

     

    Responsible for the procurement of all packaging supplies, manufacturing supplies and MRO items as required in supporting the company. Refer to Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Includes the following; other duties will be assigned in a progressive manner.

     

    • Review and process MRP on a daily basis or as required.

    • Process, generate, and distribute all expense purchase requisitions / orders.

    • Confirm receipt of all purchase orders to suppliers.

    • Expedite all purchase orders as referenced above.

    • Provide support to the sourcing team as needed to source or find new suppliers.

    • Set up and maintain new and existing suppliers in the company business system.

    • Process and distribute Request for Quotes (RFQ’s).

    • Prepares RFQ, and drawings / prints for Emailing to suppliers as required.

    • Maintain supplier files and logs in accordance with ISO requirements.

    • Maintain and update all Supplier Self-Evaluation Surveys.

    • Maintain supplier information/database in company business system.

    • Achieve cost reductions, in accordance with the Company’s annual goals.

    • Travel/visit major suppliers as necessary to build/improve on supplier relationships and resolve any issues.

    • Know our company safety policy and participate in Safety Training as required.

    • Maintain product master files to specified standards.

    • Follow all purchasing policies and procedures and participating in continual improvement exercises for sustainability.

    • Good to excellent understanding of MRP principles including Bills of Materials and Master Schedules.

    • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    EDUCATION: Junior Buyer – transferrable experience in field. Buyer / Senior Buyer – experience in field.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals and numerical spreadsheets. Possess the ability to write reports and correspondence as well as to speak effectively with team members of the organization and external customers.

     

    SUPERVISORY SKILLS: Senior Buyer – may be responsible for direct reports with a Buyer or Jr. Buyer job title. Buyer and Junior Buyer positions will not have direct reports.
