This position is responsible for employee relations, conducting investigations, counseling employees and managers, and supporting operational and HR and leadership with issues related to policies, procedures, performance, and recognition to improve employee relations matters. This position will collaborate closely with the HR Leadership Team and will support all campuses and service lines at Goodwin Living with employee relations matters.
Employee Relations Duties/Responsibilities:
• Provide guidance and advice to team members on state and federal labor laws.
• Advise team members and management on company policies.
• Maintain universal tracking of Employee Relations cases and caseloads
• Assist supervisors regarding disciplinary concerns.
• Coach and counsel employees, in conjunction with department directors.
• Participate in separation conversations.
• Provide mediation/conflict resolution assistance.
• Recommend retraining or new training
• Review evaluations in performance management process, if applicable.
• Ensure that company practices, policies, and procedures are implemented in a fair and equitable manner to all employees.
• Assist with exit interviews
• Promote effective communication among employees, supervisors, managers and executive management in matters of personnel and human resources.
• Generate ideas for and assist with planning and implementation of employee engagement and recognition programs.
• Assist with retention and employee engagement by reviewing data and identifying trends and insights
• Seek to reduce employee relations matters and overall provide risk mitigation for the organization through the addition of training measures.
TALENT DEVELOPMENT
• Work with Department Directors to identify training needs (internal or external) for their team members to advance skills and development or for remediation purposes, e.g., not meeting performance expectations, behavioral correction, etc.
• Develop and provide training and development programs as needed.
Education and Experience:
+ Must possess a bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resource Management or related field from an accredited college or university.
+ Professional HR certification highly preferred.
+ Must possess a minimum of 5 years of HR experience
+ Prior experience with employee relations and conducting internal investigation is preferred.
+ Must be exceptionally customer service oriented.
+ Must have a high level of attention to detail, follow-up and responsiveness.
+ Must be able to deal effectively with challenging situations and team members.
+ Demonstrated ability to multi-task and successfully manage a variety of programs, projects and deadlines.
+ Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to tailor communication to targeted audience.
+ Must be able to work between multiple campus locations, weekly.
