    The Senior Project Manager will lead multi-location, cross functional teams to deliver new Commercial HVAC products to market through a structured stage gate process. This role ensures new products meet specific customer requirements, project goals, timelines and budgets. Project Managers take P&L accountability for all NPD activity through product launch.

     

    In this role, you will manage objectives and influence teams without direct authority, while gaining support and maintaining schedule velocity. You will also leverage product, project, technical and investment steward leadership to ensure the project success. You will be comfortable in ambiguity and advocate for improving project efficiency and finding ways to scale the team.

     

    You will manage all aspects of projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution while leading a team, or teams, to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources. You will also be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of control projects and accountable for assigned project’s scope of work, schedule, and budget.     Where is the work:

    Due to the nature of this role, this position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.

    What you will do:

    + Build strong relationships with project sponsors at all levels. Assess project cross-functional resource requirements and proactively engage sponsors and functional leaders to fill resource gaps on a timely basis to ensure project success.

    + Manage NPD Project deliverables, risks and timing; utilize critical path management methodologies to manage schedule, scope and resource requirements. Timely communication of project status to all stakeholders.

    + Review project proposals or plans to determine a time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and the assignment of available departmental resources to various project phases.

    + Drive fundamental activities from concept to performing as pertains to:Risk, Issue, Change Mgt, Schedule, Resource Allocation, Resource visibility and reporting with key stakeholders. Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks.

    + Motivate a team to work together (w/o direct authority) towards a common goal and to achieve co-operation within the team while providing professional support, and ability to delegate with respect and ownership. Establish a work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.

    + Review/approve the work plan of an external service provider or consultancy contracted to execute the project. Implement a project communication plan. Conduct risk assessment and mitigation. Monitor project activities, ensuring the currency, quality and integrity of information, while providing consistency in content and “look and feel” across the organization

    + Assign duties and responsibilities to project personnel and define the scope of their authority. Direct and coordinate the activities of project personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget. Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required..

    + Ability to travel up to 20% (depending on location and projects).

    What you will bring:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or equivalent field. MS, MBA or Advance Program Management Accreditation preferred.

    + 3+ years of experience in project or program management is required, demonstrated experience leading New Product (Design, Test, Supplier Readiness & Mfg. Integration) preferred.

    + PMP, Agile and/or Scrum certificate(s) a plus.

    + Ownership and commitment to excellence, along with emotional intelligence, servant leadership and stakeholder partnership.

    + Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple priorities at once. Strong attention to detail, resilient & adaptable. Financial acumen and business case development experience.

    + Fosters Trane Technology leadership principles.

    Compensation:

    Base Salary: $97,000 - $128,000

     

    Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
