    **Summary** :

     

    Provides direct operational support to the UNC Health Privacy Office staff related to the intake of inquiries and consultations, EMR accessing monitoring, educational development/delivery, and collection of data used in support of presentations offered to leadership.

     

    **Responsibilities** :

    1. Fields calls and emails to the department from internal and external customers. Responds to Level 1 consultations and escalate Level 2 and above to other staff members. Enters cases for investigation into the case management system

    2. Performs initial review of audits from the EMR Monitoring system at the direction of the Privacy Program Managers and open investigations into concerning accesses that are identified.

    3. Investigates low risk privacy concerns under the supervision of the Privacy Program Managers.

    4. Assists in vendor monitoring program by sending and receiving inquires to internal and external parties.

    5. Supports the Privacy Program Managers in the development of presentation material including educational content, statistical reports, and project updates.

    6. Responds within reasonable time period to privacy inquiries from the UNC HCS Privacy Officer, Chief Audit & Compliance Officer, clinicians, management, and staff.

    • High School diploma or GED

    Licensure/Certification Requirements:

    • No licensure or certification required.

    Professional Experience Requirements:

    • Two (2) years of experience working in a health care setting or two (2) years of experience in reviewing and analyzing documents.

    Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

    • Excellent oral and communication skills. Proven confidence and finesse in dealing with public.

    • Ability to think and act independently.
