    The Territory Manager oversees a full range of key account management activities within the Roanoke, VA area associated with selling and servicing a large technical industrial territory. Account base is diverse and is comprised of bearing, automotive, cutting tool, as well as general engineering types of accounts. These key accounts are technical in nature and require strategic, focused planning and execution. A thorough understanding of value-added selling is necessary. Responsibilities will also include working closely with Application Engineers, Product Managers, and other SGA personnel to successfully maintain existing accounts and win competitive opportunities. Accounts in this territory primarily use Bonded, Superabrasives, and Coated abrasive products. Key performance measures include sales, relationship building, proposal development, implementation of sales growth programs, and identification of new opportunities. This specific end-user territory geography is centered around Roanoke, VA. This is a high-profile territory within the Saint-Gobain organization that will give the salesperson visibility within the sales organization and supply many opportunities for success and promotion into larger positions.

     

    Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, the incumbent will represent products from all business units within the Saint-Gobain Abrasives offering. This position requires an individual with high energy who is self-motivated and has a demonstrated track record of success. The candidate will be responsible for a full range of account management activities associated with selling and servicing a geographic, business development territory comprised of medium to large distribution and end users in the Industrial and Construction channels. The candidate will work closely with National, Traditional Industrial, and Construction distribution. Cost-saving activities and documentation, as well as opportunity development and execution, are also requirements of the role. Key performance measures include sales, relationship building, proposing & implementing sales growth programs, identifying new opportunities & managing them through the SF pipeline.

    Essential Functions

    DEVELOPING & MAINTAINING ACCOUNT RELATIONSHIPS

    + Foster close customer relationships for SGA share gain.

    + Visit customers to understand their needs and address any concerns.

    + Creating new relationships within untouched markets.

    ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

    + Extensive documentation and reporting (Salesforce), critical path development, and strategic planning.

    + Timely reporting of expenses.

    COMMUNICATIONS

    + Communication and coordination with the Field Sales Manager and regional colleagues.

    + Effective internal communication with SGA stakeholders (Product Managers, Application Engineers, Customer Service & Pricing team).

    + External communications involving growth plans with key distribution to gain share in the respective territory.

    Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree - Business Administration, Marketing, or Engineering (Preferred)

    + 6+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or technical sales experience related to abrasive products or processes. (Required)

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $89,500 to $138,500 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

     

    In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 0% with a max of 65% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
