Job Description:
Provide the special skills and the labor necessary to keep St. Cloud Technical & Community College buildings, equipment, and grounds operational, aesthetic, safe, and secure. Replaces parts, makes minor adjustments to machinery, and repairs buildings, equipment and miscellaneous articles.
Salary Range:
$26.77 - $30.81
Minimum Qualifications
+ Knowledge of general methods and practices of a variety of trade areas (e.g. mechanics, masonry, welding, and carpentry) sufficient to assist licensed trades workers and to repair machinery, tools and facilities in a timely and safe manner.
+ Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to safely and efficiently perform the job duties.
+ Ability to safely use hand and power hand tools.
+ Ability to safely operate and maintain trucks, tractors, and other ground and road maintenance equipment.
+ Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
+ Ability to provide work instructions to others.
+ Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting 50 lbs., carrying and bending.
+ Ability to effectively used computer systems and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office products, Outlook, work order system, the internet to search and use product manuals and look up parts.
+ Organizational skills to manage inventory of equipment parts, surplus furniture, seasonal equipment and materials for disposal.
+ Basic understanding of safety rules and operations.
+ Intermediate knowledge of operation of powered grounds equipment
+ Intermediate operation of skid loader, specifically snow removal.
Preferred Qualification
+ Ability to recognize and safely handle hazardous waste materials
+ Advanced knowledge of scissor lifts, skid steer, operation and mobile powered grounds equipment.
+ Knowledge of door locks, closers and associated hardware.
+ Ability to layout and design small construction projects and configure material lists for those projects.
+ Basic OSHA training

In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
