    Job Description Summary:

    We are looking for a results-driven Night Warehouse Manager to lead our overnight distribution operations in a high-volume wine and spirits facility. This role is responsible for supervising a team of approximately 80 employees with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with experience in warehouse automation, union workforce management, and continuous process improvement. Four-day work week.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Lead and manage nightly warehouse operations to meet performance targets and customer expectations.

    + Ensure all activities are executed with a strong focus on **productivity** , **efficiency** , and **accuracy** .

    + Oversee **quality assurance** procedures to maintain high standards in order fulfillment and minimize errors.

    + Promote and enforce a **safety-first culture** , ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

    + Provide training, coaching, and development for warehouse team members to support continuous improvement.

    + Supervise and maintain positive working relationships in a **unionized environment** , including handling grievances and labor issues.

    + Manage and troubleshoot **conveyor systems** and material handling equipment to minimize downtime and improve flow.

    + Oversee **truck loading** processes, ensuring compliance with load plans and timely dispatch.

    + Monitor and improve **selection accuracy** through performance metrics and corrective actions.

    + Ensure **inventory accuracy** by implementing cycle counts, reconciliations, and inventory control best practices.

    + Identify and implement strategies to reduce **breakage** , **loss** , and **shipment shortages** .

    + Use KPIs and data analytics to drive **continuous improvement** and operational excellence.

    + Collaborate with transportation, inventory, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and smooth operations.

    + Manage nightly staffing, attendance, scheduling, and performance reviews in line with business needs.

     

    Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience

    + Minimum of 5 years’ of warehouse supervisory/leadership experience in related area (distribution or logistics). Beverage of Food industry preferred.

    + Experience managing in a unionized workforce strongly preferred

    + Knowledge of **warehouse automation** , **conveyor systems** , and **material handling equipment**

    + Strong understanding of **inventory control** , **order selection** , and **loading processes** .

    + Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and drive **operational improvements** .

    + Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software

    + Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills

    + Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines

    + Analytic and Reporting skills

    + Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills

    + Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Complete working knowledge of Warehouse Management System

    + Working knowledge of SAP

    + Experience in the wine and spirits distribution industry

    + Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety audits

    + Lean or Six Sigma training or certification

    Physical Requirements:

    + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone

    Competencies:

    + May help coordinate the work of junior members of the team.

    + Resolves issues which are often varied and non-routine. Undertakes analysis and investigation to solve issues.

    Compensation: Base salary $79,000.00 - $95,000.00 + 10% annual bonus potential (Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience.)
