    DESCRIPTION** **:

    Tutor Perini Corporation is looking for a Field Engineer (MEP/Systems) who will Provide technical engineering information to construction management and crafts to ensure heavy civil construction work complies with the engineered design, technical requirements, engineering standards, and codes. This includes performing tasks that include, but are not limited to:

    RESPONSIBILITIES** **:

    + Read and interpret Contract, Drawings, Specifications, Standards, and related technical documents in order to maintain the construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities.

    + Research and resolve drawing interpretations problems, conflicts, interferences, and the like.

    + Prepares, updates and distributes work activity schedules/updates, and communicates across discipline groups and agencies to ensure proper advance notifications and coordination of start times.

    + Manage the preparation of RFI’s and related construction submittals.

    + Support planning and technical issues. Prepares construction work plan packages and coordinates pre-construction meetings while ensuring that all prerequisites to start construction activities are identified and completed.

    + Manage the effective utilization of technical expertise within the Project Management team.

    + Coordinate Field Engineering activities with Construction Superintendents and Quality team.

    + Monitors and participates daily in field construction process. Provides layout checks and technical reviews of work against requirements.

    + Assists in preparing monthly reporting for progress payments, schedule updates, and problem/issue tracking and resolution. Provides accurate and factual assessments of project performance.

    + Coordinates with subcontractors on advance material acquisitions and pre-construction deliverables.

    + Field verify to ensure construction is completed in accordance with plans, specifications and contract.

    + Ensure as-builts updated as required by contract.

    + Maintains a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing procedures.

    + Maintains project integrity and reputation through compliance with high standards of workplace safety and construction best practices.

    + Identifies and resolves changing site conditions or other impacts during planning of the work.

    + Reviews project plans and develops a construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities.

    + Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent required.

    + Minimum five (5) years of experience working with a Heavy Civil, Trackwork, Electrical or Systems Contractor.

    + Work experience in all heavy civil construction preferred.

    + Experience with MEP, Track & Rail Systems and heavy civil construction preferred.

    + Previous experience MEP, Traction Power, Communications or Train Control systems a plus

    + Must understand fundamentals of contracting and have familiarity with large scale mass transit / transportation projects.

    + Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities is vital.

    + Superior communication and interpersonal skills such as tact, diplomacy, influence, etc. are essential.

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites.

    + Ability to develop in-depth understanding of QA/QC manuals and programs.

    + Adherence to safe work practices

    + Team player and good interpersonal skills

    + Familiarity in measuring and tracking quantities of work performed

     

    Expected salary range for this position is $100,000 - $135,000 depending on experience.
