    As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be an integral member of the HGB Interoperability and Utilization Management Web Team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain web applications and backend integrations to support healthcare data exchange. You will work with complex systems that manage electronic health records, referrals, and claims.

     

    This position provides the opportunity to collaborate closely with team members, product owners, and leadership in a supportive environment. Your daily activities will include design, development, support, bug fixes, testing, and research. You will help build and maintain platforms that are vital to healthcare operations, delivering secure and scalable solutions that meet business needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Design, develop, and maintain web applications, APIs, and backend integrations using C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core, MVC, and legacy frameworks)

    + Write advanced SQL queries, create stored procedures, and design database structures in Microsoft SQL Server

    + Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business partners to deliver new features and improvements

    + Conduct code reviews, support modernization efforts, and follow best practices

    + Implement source control and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps

    + Ensure software quality through testing, debugging, and issue resolution

    + Participate in Agile/Scrum activities

    + Provide on-call support as needed

    Required Qualifications

    + Must be a US Citizen (Our Government Contract Requires US Citizenship for this Position.)

    + Must work in the Eastern Time Zone and attend daily video stand-ups at 9:30 am EST

    + Must successfully obtain interim approval for government security clearance

    + Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5+ years of professional experience

    + At least 5 years’ experience as a senior software engineer with hands-on expertise in C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core, MVC, legacy frameworks)

    + Experience developing web APIs and backend integrations

    + Advanced skills with SQL Server, including complex queries and stored procedures

    + Proficiency with XML, JSON, and semi-structured or unstructured data

    + Minimum 2 years’ experience in healthcare (claims, referrals, EHRs)

    + Knowledge of HL7 FHIR standards

    + Strong understanding of healthcare claims, referral data, and terminology

    + Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills in Agile environments

    + Experience with version control, CI/CD, and tools such as Visual Studio and Postman

    + Familiarity with front-end technologies (Vue.js, JQuery, Bootstrap, CSS, HTML)

    + Strong organizational skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly

    + Ability to work independently with minimal direction

    + Demonstrates a strong commitment to enhancing healthcare experiences for beneficiaries

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience in healthcare, military, or government sectors, especially TRICARE

    + Experience with Azure environments and pipeline deployment

    + Experience with HL7 V3 and FHIR

    + Over 3 years’ experience with C#/.NET and Microsoft SQL Server

    + Advanced problem-solving abilities and aptitude for learning new skills quickly

    + Strong organizational skills

    + Ability to complete tasks with minimal direction

    Work-At-Home Requirements

    To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

    At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

     

    Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

     

    Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

    Pay Range

    The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

    $106,900 - $147,000 per year

    This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
