    Position Description:

    Temporary Paralegal/Legal Assistant supporting the Office of Managment and Budget.

     

    This position is located in 950 Pennsylvania Ave. SW, Washington DC.

    Your future duties and responsibilities:

    Paralegal/Legal Assistant $31.69 per Hour

     

    • Route incoming Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and Department clearance requests to the appropriate Clearance Attorney for review and assignment and circulate to the appropriate Department components for comments.

    • Track and inform Clearance Attorneys on OMB deadlines for completion of assigned OMB requests.

    • Log and route to the appropriate Clearance Attorney OMB request for views on congressional hearing testimony, questions for the record, legislation, and enrolled bills.

    • Follow standard editing and style guidelines for typing and revising legislative correspondence prior to review and signature by OLA senior leadership.

    • Review, proofread, edit, and finalize Department views letters and enrolled bill letters, and ensure responses meet consistent standards in terms of OLA formatting prior to review and signature by OLA senior leadership.

    • Distribute correspondence and related documents regarding DOJ congressional hearings and draft testimony.

    • Forward signed Department views letters and final Department witness testimonies to the Justice Management Division for posting onto OLA’s website.

    • Coordinate with Clearance Attorneys and OLA leadership to analyze OLA clearance-related processes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of OLA clearance-related work products.

    • Utilize OLA Intranet Quorum (IQ) Correspondence Database Management System to research previous OMB requests and other legislative information.

    • Monitor OLA’s Justice LRM mailbox and process incoming clearance items.

    • Monitor OLA’s Technical Assistance mailbox and process incoming TA request.

    • Take phone calls from staff of Members of Congress and the public regarding Department-related issues, and forward to appropriate Attorney Advisor.

    • Locate hearing transcripts and transcripts of testimony of Department witnesses.

    • Communicate with Department components regarding legislative clearance matters.

    • Manage all front office operatio

    Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

     

    - High school diploma or equivalent

     

    - Experience as an administrative assistant, paralegal, legal secretary, program assistant, customer service role, or related field

     

    - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)

    - Excellent written and communication skills

    - Ability to lift 30 lbs. and perform filing tasks

     

    - Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Moderate Risk Public Trust Security Clearance

     

    - Successful completion of a CGI Background Investigation, including checks on criminal history, education, employment, credit, and driving records

    - Work schedule is 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday (40 hours, subject to court operational needs)

    Hourly Rate: $31.69/hour

     

    CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to: skill set level, relevant experience and training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
