Job Title: Utility Technician
Job Description
The Utility Technician will provide essential support for a start-up testing lab, focusing on sanitation and daily operational duties under direct supervision. Additionally, the role involves assisting with various aspects of application and piloting research based on customer demands.
Responsibilities
+ Assist in pilot plant daily operational duties under direct supervision.
+ Perform sanitation responsibilities, ensuring the work area is clean and safe for production functions.
+ Clean and prepare lab equipment and tools.
+ Follow instructions, specific procedures, and protocols to ensure high-quality application work and a safe work environment.
+ Adhere to all standard operating and safety procedures.
+ Assist with project operations, including ordering materials, weighing ingredients, and performing various duties as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in sanitation and sanitizing techniques.
+ Experience in cleaning and preparation tasks.
+ Ability to handle materials effectively.
+ Familiarity with standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
+ Competency in using lab equipment and data entry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to lift 55 lb gallon drums.
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Basic computer and reading skills.
+ Effective communication skills.
+ Must be reliable and demonstrate good attendance.

Work Environment
This is a temporary full-time position lasting up to 3 months, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You will work under R&D Scientists and Lab Technicians in a cleanroom environment, wearing closed-toed shoes, lab coat, pants or jeans, protective eyewear, and hearing protection. Although this role is not a long-term need for the specific team, strong candidates may be considered for other opportunities within the organization. This is a Contract position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
