    Description

    Salary is 90,000 - 110,000.

     

    We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the Morristown, NJ area. As the Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the President and serve as a key member of the management team. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial accounting, project-level cost tracking, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. You will partner closely with various functional areas including engineering, purchasing, IT, and sales.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Accounting & Reporting

    • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial data

    • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

    • Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to ensure proper funding of operations

    • Maintain fixed asset records and perform depreciation calculations

    Project Accounting & Revenue Recognition

    • Establish and maintain project-level labor tracking system to support percentage of completion (POC) accounting for our complex machine vision projects, with supporting documentation for revenue recognition and cost of goods sold (COGS)

    • Track project costs, margins, and profitability to support management decision-making

    • Support contract administration and billing for fixed-fee projects and T& M services

    Accounts Receivable & Payable Management

    • Manage full cycle accounts receivable including cash application, analysis, and reconciliation

    • Process incoming checks and ACH/Wire transfers; follow up on past due accounts

    • Lead efforts to transition customers to electronic payment methods

    • Manage full cycle accounts payable using Ramp automation tool

    • Coordinate vendor payments and year-end 1099 processing
