General Description
The Credit Analyst I is responsible for assisting the Market Manager and Relationship Managers with preparing memorandums and loan approval summaries for prospective and renewing loans. This includes, but is not limited to, researching and analyzing financial information and preparing miscellaneous reports. Attends and prepares presentation of data for loan committee meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Prepares memorandums and loan approval summaries for prospective and renewing loans in an accurate, logical, and timely manner. This duty is performed about 25% of the time.
+ Researches and analyzes financial statement data, evaluates industry trends, and consults with loan officers, accounting firms, and customers, as needed, to ensure comprehensive technical review of proposed and existing credit facilities. This duty is performed about 20% of the time.
+ Accompanies Relationship Managers on prospective and existing customer calls to discuss borrowing needs. Must effectively communicate with prospects and customers to procure financial data, assist with loan payment collections, and serve as a liaison with clients. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
+ Attends loan committee meetings and is prepared to assist Relationship Managers with presentations of data. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
+ Assists with department goals assigned by the Market Manager including past due loans, technical exceptions, late renewals, and past due borrower financials. This duty is performed about 25% of the time.
+ Prepares reports as requested by the Market Manager, Relationships Managers, and other members of senior management. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
+ Maintains regular and reliable attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Reads, writes, and communicates in a clear and efficient manner via various types of correspondence, such as, in person, phone, email, letters, etc. Adheres to all company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable banking rules, regulations, and laws (including BSA/AML).
+ Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field or four years equivalent relevant work experience
+ 0-6 months of additional relevant work experience and/or training
+ Regular use of desktop/laptop computer, basic operating systems, and specialized software systems.
+ Intermediate experience with alphanumeric data entry, Excel, and Word Processing; basic experience with PowerPoint
+ Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages and apply concepts such as fractions and ratios.
