    Job Title: Combat Systems Technician Job Description

     

    We are seeking a skilled Combat Systems Technician to support a team focused on Combat System Integration for Non-AEGIS class ships. This role involves significant experience with Radar and Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS) and will be part of a team with a longstanding relationship with the customer.

    Responsibilities

    + Actively participate as part of a team of engineers, technicians, and support personnel to provide ship integration services, including physical design, installation, testing, and maintenance of USN Combat Systems.

    + Perform technical reviews of planned ship upgrades, coordinate Ship Integration Liaison Action Reports (LARs), and provide written comments on issues and impacts.

    + Generate and perform technical reviews of Combat Systems Integration/Engineering Ship Change Documents (SCDs).

    + Review Combat Systems changes to identify possible conjunctive alteration impacts with other ship systems.

    + Participate in assessment events related to integration and testing of ship systems.

    + Conduct ship checks to document existing compartment arrangements and configurations.

    + Participate in program reviews, phone conferences, working groups, and other meetings.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Fire Control Technician (FC) or Electronic Technician (ET) or 3-5 years of experience in ship system engineering support.

    + Specific experience in Command and Control (C2), Weapons Systems, Electronic Warfare (EW), or Ship Self Defense System (SSDS).

    + Familiarity with ship system design processes such as SCDs, ECPs, and ECRs.

    + Familiarity with US Navy Ship Specification documents including GSO, Ship Specs, and STDs.

    + US Secret Clearance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Recent experience supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) ship integration efforts is a plus.

    + AutoCAD experience is desired but not mandatory.

    Work Environment

    The preferred work location is Dahlgren with a hybrid schedule of 3 days on-site and 2 days from home. Alternatively, the position can be based in Norfolk at Fort Monroe. The role involves working on Non-AEGIS ships, including amphibious submersibles and aircraft carriers, contributing to technologies that ensure our nation's warfighters continue to stay safe.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dahlgren, Virginia.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
