    Job Description

    We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with over 2 years of experience in water resources to join our team in Fort Wayne. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in planning, designing, and implementing water resource projects that address potable water, wastewater, and environmental infrastructure challenges. You will be part of a project team dedicated to helping communities and industries solve their most complex environmental infrastructure issues. Our team-based culture fosters learning and growth.

    Responsibilities

    + Work collaboratively with project managers, project engineers, CAD designers, and environmental scientists.

    + Prepare engineering reports, construction documents, cost estimates, and technical memos.

    + Perform design calculations under the supervision of a project engineer or project manager.

    + Interpret and apply federal, state, and local regulations related to water resources and stormwater.

    + Contact government officials for permits and prepare permit applications.

    + Conduct site visits, field investigations, and inspections as needed.

    + Coordinate with contractors.

    + Communicate technical findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 2 years of experience in water resources engineering.

    + Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a graduate degree being a plus.

    + Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam certification with progress toward PE licensure.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling software.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools is a plus.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Valid driver's license.

    + Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for clients.

    + Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic.

    + A clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines.

    + Attention to detail and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.

    Work Environment

    The office environment is laid back but can be deadline-intensive at times, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and a family feel. The dress code is business casual. Our flexible work schedule allows you to start as early as 7 AM or as late as 9 AM, with options for a nine-hour workday Monday through Thursday and a four-hour workday on Friday. This role offers a mix of office and fieldwork, providing a balanced start to your career. You'll be assigned a mentor for professional growth, with frequent performance evaluations and yearly pay increases in July. The company is recognized for paying in the top 10-15% according to ACEC reporting, with opportunities for straight time pay when permanent and a recession-proof field in Water/Wastewater and Transportation Engineering.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
