Job Title: Transportation Engineer Job Description
The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, review, and inspection of transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with project specifications. Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer and a strong working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) project requirements and standards are essential.
Responsibilities
+ Develop transportation engineering designs and plans for projects such as highways, roadways, tunnels, mass transit, and aviation.
+ Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
+ Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs are aligned with project specifications.
+ Update design requirements for new and existing projects.
+ Inspect new construction and existing transportation structures.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer.
+ Strong working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) project requirements and standards.
+ Experience in roadway design, civil engineering, and transportation engineering.
+ Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater management.
+ 5+ years of experience in design and engineering for transportation projects.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
+ Experience with MDOT Standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Work Environment
Work is based in the Lansing office, with a requirement to work in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. The workweek averages 40 hours.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $52.90/hr.
