Starting Wage DOE: $54,849 - $68,577
The Philanthropic Advisor I plays a key role in advancing the mission of Billings Clinic Foundation through event-based fundraising, donor stewardship, and digital engagement initiatives. This position is responsible for planning and executing signature fundraising events, including golf tournaments, raffles, and donor recognition events, and cultivating relationships with current and prospective donors. In collaboration with Foundation staff, the advisor contributes to long- and short-term strategic goals, maintains the Foundation's digital presence, and supports the integration of marketing and community engagement strategies. This role requires a blend of creativity, organizational skills, and relationship-building expertise to foster a culture of philanthropy across the organization and within the community.
Essential Job Functions
• • Event Fundraising & Execution
Leads planning and execution of fundraising activities for the Billings Clinic Classic, including overseeing the golf tournament and raffle.
Plans and implements additional events such as the Harvest Banquet and Spring Donor Luncheon.
Assists with third-party fundraisers in support of Billings Clinic.
• Donor Stewardship & Cultivation
Manages a panel of existing and prospective donors through coordinated cultivation, recognition, and solicitation efforts.
Maintains donor records and activity notes in the Foundation’s electronic database.
Represents the Foundation in the community by cultivating relationships with business owners, stakeholders, and potential donors.
• Digital Engagement & Marketing
Coordinates updates and enhancements to the Foundation website.
Implements web-based initiatives to build awareness, engage potential donors, and promote online giving.
Develops and executes an effective social media strategy aligned with fundraising goals and event promotion.
• Annual Report & Communications
Organizes content, design, and production of the Foundation’s Annual Report, ensuring HIPAA compliance and alignment with organizational standards.
Collaborates with the Communications and Marketing Department for the review and approval of public-facing materials.
• Strategic Planning & Operations
Participates in the development and execution of the Foundation’s operating plan, including short- and long-term goals.
Maintains inventory of promotional materials and manages procurement for cost-effective purchasing.
Oversees the Foundation storage area and maintains historical archives.
• Volunteer Engagement
Collaborates with Volunteer Services to recruit, coordinate, and supervise volunteers and interns to support Foundation events and initiatives.
• Internal Collaboration & Culture Building
Promotes engagement among staff, physicians, and volunteers to foster a culture of philanthropy.
Builds internal connections across clinical departments to promote cross-functional awareness and collaboration.
Participates in employee-focused events to encourage community involvement.
• Administrative & Organizational Responsibilities
Leads the Classic Party Committee and contributes to other committee work as assigned.
Ensures alignment between social media, events, and other Foundation campaigns.
Adheres to organizational, departmental, and regulatory standards for safety, compliance, and confidentiality.
Demonstrates open communication, teamwork, and continuous performance improvement.
Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• Bachelors degree in a related field such as communications, business, hospitality, marketing, etc.
Experience
• 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience
Certifications and Licenses
• Ability to be insured to drive organization vehicles.
