Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
The Computer Forensic Claim Specialist, Bond & Specialty Insurance, works in partnership with Claim Professionals to provide technical expertise in the handling of losses involving Cyber, including cyber security incidents, Cyber Crime, incidents involving computer fraud, funds transfer fraud, social engineering fraud, and ransomware.
This position will be primarily tasked with providing computer forensic consulting support to Management Liability Cyber and Crime Claim Professionals; Assist with understanding exposure issues on forensic scoping calls; Scrutinize charges for work performed by Digital Forensic vendors for reasonableness and appropriateness and in line with agreed upon Statements of Work. Assist to mitigate expenses by determining the reasonableness of invoices related to digital forensic expenses associated with security breaches, cyber extortion, data restoration, and betterment. Analyze technical reports to lead a better customer experience and help reduce periods of restoration and associated expenses.
What Will You Do?
+ Provides consultation and coaching to help claim professionals understand and triage exposures presented by incident response, restoration, and betterment claims activities, especially complex claims that have a potential for or actual public relations or third-party liability impact.
+ Provides detailed and accurate digital forensic incident response assessments in a timely manner.
+ Supports Management Liability Claim (Crime and Cyber) in evaluating coverage regarding technical service expenditures tendered for reimbursement.
+ Scrutinizes and opines on appropriateness of vendor statements of work, scoping plans, and estimated budgets to execute on plan.
+ Partner with claim staff and vendor(s) to develop standardized Digital Forensic Billing Guidelines.
+ Conducts examinations on incident response outcomes and track findings.
+ Partner with Claim Management and Claim Professionals in the vetting of digital forensic vendors.
+ Assist claim professionals in determining appropriate technical responses to supply-chain attacks resulting in high numbers of claim submissions.
+ Assist Claim Professionals in identifying responsible parties.
+ Provide technical content to claim professionals to assist with heads-up or large loss reporting requirements.
+ Assist Claim Professionals in the investigation and effectiveness of cyber security controls in our customer’s computing environment, under various cyber-attack circumstances.
+ Prepare and present reports for management that accurately reflect loss development, cyber claim trends, new threats or techniques that are emerging.
+ Communicate and collaborate with business partners in Cyber Risk Control, Cyber Product, Underwriting, and Actuary and the Enterprise regarding claim trends and reporting.
+ Support the Recovery Management Unit with technical or digital facts in support of their review of claims and identifying responsible parties.
+ Perform digital forensics on email, loose files, internet audit logs and other computer or network evidence to uncover and share digital facts with claim professionals.
+ Support early incident response alert workflows to include containment steps, evidence preservation and collection and cyber claim intake.
+ Conducts technical training to Travelers staff to build knowledge base in cyber risk, threat, trends and coverage/risk mitigation opportunities.
+ Partners with Claim Management and BI&A staff to develop cyber risk analytics and predictive models.
+ Acts as technical liaison with vendor, claim staff, insureds and business partners.
+ Participates in training and education, conference presentations and client/applicant visits.
+ Works with Claim Management and cross-functional teams across Travelers to assist in designing and maintaining Travelers Cyber Catastrophe Event Response Plan.
+ Understands cyber threats and current cyber-attacks; Applies this knowledge to claim and underwriting risk assessments relating to Travelers Cyber insurance product portfolio as well as to the non-cyber product portfolio.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
+ Proficient with host-based forensics, network forensics, malware analysis and data breach response preferred.
+ 1 year of experience preferred with a cybersecurity professional services consulting firm.
+ Experience conducting independent risk assessments, business process or IT control auditing preferred.
+ One or more Digital Forensic and Incident Response Certifications such as GCFE, GCFA, GNFA, GCTI, GREM, CHFI, CCE, CFC, EnCE, and CFCE.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Intermediate level of public speaking abilities as a subject matter expert on basic information and network security, basic cyber threats, cyber-attacks and other related topics.
+ Intermediate ability to communicate effectively with business partners, technology specialists, third party vendors, and customers.
+ Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
+ Intermediate expertise in cyber risk assessments, cyber risk controls, tools and industry best practices related to information and network security.
+ Broad knowledge of all IT related technologies with subject matter expertise in IT Security related technology and business exposures impacting organizational vitality preferred.
+ Basic knowledge of IoT and ICS systems, controls and security best practices.
+ Basic knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations including PCI-DSS, HIPPA, and other statutes protecting consumer identity information.
+ Basic Knowledge of Liability, Bond, & Property coverage pertaining to Cyber insurance products.
+ Basic knowledge of business planning, expense management and policy and procedure development.
+ Intermediate ability to coordinate, work with and gain the trust of business partners, technical resources, third-party vendors and customers.
+ Intermediate ability to interact on a multidisciplinary team with other investigators, business partners and industry peers on projects related to ICS and information/network security.
What is a Must Have?
+ BA/BS or MS degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Cyber or related field required.
+ Preferred experience with Cybersecurity practices, processes, Cybersecurity event investigation, digital forensics and incident response (consulting experience preferred).
